The Annex’s charm, history, and prime location attracts a wide demographic, from students and professors from the nearby University of Toronto, to working professionals and families.
The homes
The Annex real estate is a reflection of its diverse residents. This long-standing neighbourhood has many beautiful Victorian homes, some that are single-family houses and others that have been converted into apartment units to accommodate the students in the area. Closer to Bloor Street, you’ll find a selection of modern condo developments.
The schools
Public, independent, and private schools can all be found in the Annex neighbourhood, including Jesse Ketchum Junior and Senior Public School, Huron Street Junior Public School, Taddle Creek Montessori School, the University of Toronto, and Royal St. George’s College.
The amenities
A major attraction of the Annex is the abundance of restaurants. Two local favourites are the organic, plant-based dishes at Live Organic and the Mexican-inspired fare at Playa Cabana.
